UFC Unveils “Freedom 250” White House Fight Card, Bonus Plan
During a ceremonial press event in Washington, White revealed that World Liberty Financial had contributed an additional $250,000 to the bonus fund. As a result, the "Fight of the Night" prize has been raised to $400,000 for each of the two athletes receiving the award.
The main event will see lightweight champion Ilia Topuria defend his title against interim champion Justin Gaethje. In the co-main event, Alex Pereira will meet Ciryl Gane in a heavyweight championship clash.
The lineup also includes bouts between Sean O'Malley and Aiemann Zahabi, Derrick Lewis and Josh Hoekstra, Michael Chandler and Mauricio Ruffy, Bo Nickal and Kyle Daukaus, as well as Diego Lopes and Steve Garcia.
White further stated that Paramount+ will carry the event live, addressing ongoing discussion about where the card would be broadcast.
Responding to questions about potential weather-related disruptions following rainfall in the US capital, he said the event is expected to go ahead regardless of rain or snow. He noted that only extreme conditions, including lightning, could force changes to the schedule.
