In a sequence of operational statements, Hezbollah said repeated drone sorties zeroed in on Israeli troop concentrations and fortified positions. In the central sector, Hezbollah said it fired a surface-to-air missile at an Israeli Hermes 450 surveillance drone.
The Israeli military, meanwhile, disclosed Wednesday that seven soldiers — including two officers — were wounded when an explosive-laden drone went down in southern Lebanon. One female soldier sustained serious injuries, two officers and two soldiers suffered moderate wounds, and two others were lightly hurt.
The violence persists despite a US-brokered ceasefire that officially took hold on April 17 and has since been extended through early July.
Since March 2, Israel's large-scale military campaign across Lebanon has killed 3,073 people, wounded 9,362 others, and forced more than 1.6 million residents — roughly one-fifth of the country's entire population — from their homes, according to Lebanese officials.
