UN approves resolution demands Israel withdrawal from Golan
The resolution, drafted by Egypt, passed with 123 votes in favor, seven against, and 41 abstentions. It reaffirmed that Israel’s 1981 decision to impose its laws and administration on the territory is “null and void.”
The resolution emphasized that Israel’s ongoing control of the Syrian Golan remains a major obstacle to achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region.
