Turkish Military Plane Crash Claims Nineteen Lives

(MENAFN) The bodies of 19 personnel have been retrieved from the site of Tuesday’s Turkish military cargo plane crash near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border, while search operations continue for the final missing individual, announced Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Addressing a Wednesday gathering of Justice and Development (AK) Party provincial leaders in Ankara, Erdogan confirmed that the plane’s black box has been located and that investigative procedures have commenced.

“Ongoing work at the crash site is being closely monitored, and all necessary investigations will be done meticulously to clarify every aspect of the incident,” he emphasized.

The president also stated that consistent updates to the public regarding the crash will be provided by Türkiye’s National Defense Ministry and Communications Directorate.

Erdogan cautioned citizens to remain vigilant against false information concerning the crash and advised against supporting those “who stoop to dirty politics.”

The incident involved a Turkish C-130 military cargo plane carrying 20 military personnel, which crashed Tuesday after departing from Azerbaijan en route to Türkiye.
