Turkey partakes in UN Tourism General Assembly in Saudi Arabia

(MENAFN) Türkiye participated in the 26th UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, represented by Nadir Alpaslan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism.

Held on Sunday and Monday under the theme “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future,” the assembly focused on digital transformation, sustainability, and inclusive growth in the global tourism sector. Over 160 countries were represented to discuss strategic decisions shaping the next 50 years of tourism.

During the assembly, delegates adopted a declaration establishing the first global framework for the ethical, fair, and sustainable use of artificial intelligence in tourism.

On the sidelines, Alpaslan held bilateral meetings with tourism officials from Angola, Albania, Venezuela, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Niger to explore collaboration opportunities, joint projects, and sustainable tourism policies.
